Madonna ties with Elvis for singles chart record

LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - As Madonna's "Hung Up" jumps seven places to No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, the pop icon matches Elvis Presley's tally for top-10 hits -- 36, the most for any artist in the rock era.

Madonna racked up that tally in about 21 and a half years, starting with "Borderline." Presley scored his 36 top 10 hits in 16 and a half years, from 1956 with "Heartbreak Hotel" until 1972 with "Burning Love."

"Hung Up" is Madonna's highest-charting single in almost five years, since "Don't Tell Me" reached No. 4 in February 2001. It is her first top 10 hit since her James Bond theme song "Die Another Day" hit No. 8 in 2002. Madonna already held the record for the most top 40 hits by a solo female artist; she continues in first place as "Hung Up" becomes her 45th top 40 hit, out of 51 chart entries. Aretha Franklin is in second place with 43.

The parent album for "Hung Up" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. "Confessions on a Dance Floor" is Madonna's sixth album to achieve pole position. Her No. 1 albums to date are:

"Like a Virgin," three weeks (1985)

"True Blue," five weeks (1986)

"Like a Prayer," six weeks (1989)

"Music," one week (2000)

"American Life," one week (2003)

"Confessions on a Dance Floor," one week to date (2005)

Located in the center of the city, heart of Times Square, the new Hard Rock Cafe New York will rock your senses with tantalizing food and drinks and an awe-inspiring rock memorabilia collection. Priceless pieces from legends The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Billy Joel, The Ramones and Elvis Presley grace the cafe walls along with more contemporary items including stage costumes worn by Madonna and Gwen Stefani.

"Relocating the New York Cafe to Times Square is an important strategic initiative," said Hamish Dodds, president and CEO, Hard Rock International. "The memorabilia being featured in the new Hard Rock Cafe New York includes some of the most valued and treasured pieces of rock history," adds Dodds. "The doors to the Beatles' Abbey Road Studios, Elvis' tuxedo, hand-written lyrics by Jimi Hendrix, guitars cherished by legends, including Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton, and more contemporary items, including stage costumes worn by Madonna and Gwen Stefani -- the rock artifacts that can be seen in this space are truly breathtaking for music fans."

Paris Hilton Stars In New Orlando Nightclub

Club Paris has brought a new level of nightlife to downtown Orlando.
Complete with state-of-the-art light and sound systems, thousands of square feet devoted to dance space, and a decadent VIP area that features a cozy boudoir section perfect for intimate gatherings, Club Paris has quickly become the place to party in Central Florida.

Completed in just 54 days from construction kickoff to grand opening, Club Paris Orlando has brought an exciting new breed of club luxury to the Orlando area. More than $3 million were spent upgrading an aging downtown venue, transforming it into a breathtaking jewel. Blending traditional design with updated colors, Club Paris features custom-made Italian furnishings, over 22,000 square feet of dance floors on multiple levels, and state-of-the-art audio and light systems. Club Paris Orlando is only the first of several venues to come from the blonde heiress, with others already in the planning stages across the U.S.

And it wouldn’t be Club Paris without the special sparkle that only Paris Hilton can bring. Together with co-owner and partner Fred Khalilian, a local Orlando businessman who’s no stranger to the downtown scene having partnered on other successful business ventures in the area, Paris has turned the heat up in Orlando—and she’s not stopping there. The Hilton heiress chose Orlando as the home of her very first Club Paris, setting the tone for future clubs that will be opened in Las Vegas, Miami, Paris and other hotspots around the globe.

Hilton earned a ''seven-figure'' signing bonus for lending her name to the club.

Club Paris has something for everyone. Guests can groove in one of many dance areas, enjoy libations at multiple bar stations and lounge areas, or step up to the exclusive second level VIP area, where private dance floors and a relaxing bedroom-like experience await—the choices are endless. It’s a place to see and be seen.

With special nightly features like Latino night on Wednesday and Ladies night on Thursday, Club Paris offers a unique variety of sights and styles. It’s a club perfect for anyone looking for something extra—something different, something wild, something HOT.

Club Paris Orlando - Hot, So Hot, Like, Totally Hot

When you go downtown there are a lot of things to do. You can go to comedy clubs, bars, movies, shops, etc. And then, of course, there are the clubs. So many clubs to choose from, or add to the club hopping list: I suggest you try out Club Paris.

Club Paris seems as if it were made for Rollins College, so upscale and posh that many of our student body are flocking there nightly. Ladies ages 18-20 get in for $10 every night and ladies 21 and up get V.I.P. treatment for only $5. Guys 21 and up pay $10 for regular admission and, for V.I.P., pay $15 to get in on the hot action upstairs

On arriving there is, of course, valet parking. You are greeted at the door by a ridiculously large statue of Paris' dog, two bouncers, and the cashier girl, scantily clad nonetheless. Upon entering the club you are immediately greeted by the sometimes crowded-feeling dance floor and lots of pink lights; what else would you expect from Paris Hilton?

The first floor houses the dance floor, surrounded by Club Paris' two downstairs bars. When you go upstairs, though, there are private dance floors, special V.I.P. bars, and, as ClubParis.net says "a boudoir section perfect for personal encounters", whatever that means.

Every Saturday night Club Paris has what they call "Saturday Night Live," with live music brought to you by XL 106.7. Friday nights are "That Hot Fridays" in collaboration with O-ROCK 105.9 and also include a happy hour from 4:30-9:00 PM with 4-for-drink specials.

Ladies' Night is Thursday night, with ladies 21+ drinking for free until midnight. Wednesdays are busy too, with Latin night and Rumba 100.3 shakin' the club. But isn't there a college night? Not quite yet, but a college night is in the works for Tuesday nights, perfect for our Rollins partiers.

The space is nice and the overall feel is very upscale, so I suggest if you want to get dressed up for a night of posh clubbing you try out Club Paris on Church Street Station.
